Oconomowoc Lake

Over 100 years ago, the shores of Oconomowoc Lake were known as a playground for the wealthy. More than 20 millionaires from Milwaukee and Chicago made summer homes here in the form of large family estates, building mansions along the shores of the lake. In more recent years, there has been a slow shift from the grand old estates to more residential properties. Today, Oconomowoc Lake is a quiet Village with many luxurious homes. While much of the shoreline is privately owned, the Oconomowoc Lake Club, which was established in 1890, still plays a large role among the residents here.
